Long Distance Relationship ~ how long does it last?

You know, I really looked up to those couples who can stay strong together despite the distance that separates them? I mean it is true that the world is now without boundaries with all those great telecommunication system, but still, don't you feel insecure without the person you love beside you?

People say if you love each other, nothing is a matter at all..be it distance, money, etc. But I don't feel so.. I find love not being that simple. It's much more complicated than just saying you love that person. It's just not that simple. I guess love have always been that complicated regardless of the race, location..

Love..what is it anyway? I was watching this TV series..and in one of the episodes, the lady said that love is when you can't stop thinking about him/her, and when you don't see him/her, you worries, you generally can't sleep or eat well..that's love. I thought it was more than just that. In fact up till this very date, I still can't find the defination of love. I guess the defination is infinite. Endless.

Back to the topic.. Do long distance relationship really bears its fruits? I don't know.. But I guess that's for me to know..and for the whole world to find out!

Auntie..

I was getting into the lift one fine and beautiful day..A kid was in there as well, with the Indonesian maid. I smiled at him and he smiled back. Then the maid said something (couldn't really catch what she said)..and the next phrase I heard coming out from the kid's mouth was "Auntie". I was stunned..but I kindly replied, "Guai..." (That's good in Chinese..). That was 3 years ago. I can't believe it. 3 years ago, kids have started calling me auntie. (FYI, I was 20 years old then)

Well, some of you might think, you are 20 years old..It's only natural for any kid to call you auntie..To me, it was a little too early. Why can't they still stick to calling gals my age "Jie Jie" (That's Chinese for sister)? Sigh..Though I am 23 now (well..almost), I still feel a thing when kids call me auntie. I feel.....OLD. Yea..that's the word. Old. GOSH..

Kids are naive. They are so honest that it is unbelievable. They really speak their mind, be it appropriate or not. hehehe.. I guess kids see an auntie in me then.. *speechless. Anyway, I am practically used to being called an Auntie. It almost didn't really budge me anymore, though there's always this THING when I am being called an Auntie. ^_^ Guess this is part of growing up! I wonder when would kids start calling me granny... hehehehe

Dreams..Do They Really Come True?

Each and everyone of us have a dream..It can be big, it can be small. Regardless of the size of the dreams, do dream really do come true? I have no idea. You know, when you watch movies, and it is sort of like a fantasy coz most of the time the ending always felt right. Most of the time, it ends with a happy ending. I was just thinking, in real life, does it also work this way?

When I was younger, the adults would tell me that all those things we see in the movies only happen in the movies. It ends there. I didn't want to believe that at first, coz I thought the things that happens in the movies are real and it would happen in reality. However, as the years go by..I thought, maybe I was really very naive. Dreams don't always come true does it? We don't usually get things our way, or at least the way we hope it would go. Dreams are dreams and reality would be reality. I guess it's just 2 different issue. Should we have dreams then?

Again, I have no idea. I guess having dreams are good. Maybe dreams don't always come true, but if we hope, and believe, our dreams might just come true, wouldn't it?

*FRIENDS*

Yesterday, I had a sort-of-final-farewell-dinner with all my coursemates..Gosh, it only seemed like yesterday when I first got to know them. I have always find it difficult to say goodbye after getting to know them well..and became really close friends. Sigh..if only time would just stop..I know, thats a pretty naive way to think..but still.....

Friends will always be a part of us, no matter where we are. Good friends are reliable, and would be there..just to listen. That's my definition of a good friend. However, sometimes, we get disappointed by our friends..At times, it is not that they choose not to help, but sometimes, the timing isn't right and they just can't help us. Friends can be angels..but they can be devils too..hahaha..Friends, I would always appreciate all the friends that I have..

As for my coursemates, you know who you are..You have been the greatest for the past 3 years..Everyone of you. Without you guys, life in uni would not have been the same. Thanks for being such great friends, and just being you..I take this opportunity to wish each and everyone of you the very best in your future careers. May all of you meet success at the end of the path you have choosen! Keep in touch and Take care!

Public Transportation

I recently went to Hongkong for a family vacation. It was really cool and great. I mean after being in the state of being roasted for more than a month, going to a place which have a temperature of 15 degrees Celcius is really really nice. Those cool breeze..EVERYDAY. Nice... ^_^

Anyway, that's not the main thing I am posting this blog today. I just want to share some interesting info about public transportation. I am sure most of you have at least taken a public transport once. In Penang, the public transport pretty much sux..big time. They are not on time, they always go missing in action..in general, they are just not efficient. If you miss one of the bus, you can pretty much call work to get the day off.

In HK, it is a total different thing. During peak hours, busses come every 2 minutes or so. They are efficient. If you don't want to take the bus, take the tram then! Its much cheaper, but still efficient. Or you can choose the MRT. The Malaysia government have been encouraging car pooling to reduce the need of using a car as traffic congestion is a huge issue in Malaysia. However, without GOOD and EFFICIENT public transport, how do you expect people to go to work? Or go anywhere for that matter?

In the area where I stay, only a few busses passes that road. Mini busses don't pass the area where I stay. I did ask the driver once, why wouldn't he just go to that area. And he say that most of the people who lives in my area posses their own transport, thus there would be no need for him to go there as there would be no bussiness anyway. I was like....HELLO! Not EVERYONE has a CAR or a MOTORCYCLE! Gosh..I guess the Malaysia Government have lotsa thinking to do about this whole public transportation system. At least we are seeing some progress in the Light Rail Transit System in KL. *thumbs up for that. Other than that...I am pretty much speechless about the public transportation in Malaysia. hehehe.. ^_^

Being lucky..U know..I am not sure if you people realized but there are people around us who is SO SO lucky..I remember this guy who is still an undergrad (that was like a few years back), who went to Genting Highlands with some of his pals just to hang out and have some fun. His friends then wanted to enter the casino to press their luck. It was his first time playing the slot machine..He took RM50 just to play for fun..and guess what? He hit the JACKPOT. I can't remember how much was it, but he sure became rich overnight! Talk about pure good luck!

So why are some people so lucky and others not? Well, I absolutely have no idea..I guess maybe its a thing we call karma. That explains alot don't you think? For those who have no idea what karma is, listen to Alicia Keys' new song..Karma (If I am not mistaken)..Anyway, its mainly about what goes around comes around. If you do good, you'll be treated well..otherwise, you'll just get what you deserve!

I find that being lucky is extremely important. Let me stress that again..EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. You can be the smartest person in the entire universe, but without a little bit of luck, the genius thing can be flushed down the toilet. In order for someone to be successful, one would need say, 95% of all those knowledge, smartness, brains and everything..and not forgetting 5% of luck. Some might think..5%..that's not very much..but gosh, you'll be surprise by the amount of success that the 5% of luck can give you! In whatever you do, luck is so important! Seeking for a job, getting a promotion, passing examinations with flying colours, and the list goes on.

Thus, how do we be lucky? Again, I haven't got a clue. Hahaha..Some of us believe that we have to pray for luck, but as for me, I think karma would be a better explanation for this luck thingy. Just in case any of you know a tip or two to being lucky, let me know..'coz I really need the luck right now.. ^_^

Services which suxxx...BIG TIME

I went to a certain fast food outlet yesterday to have some ice creams and pies for supper. The line was..quite long, but..I still waited patiently. Well, then it was my turn to order. He wasn't ready to take my orders just yet..as he was BUSY TALKING to his counterpart who was at the next counter..Again, I waited patiently for like 1 and a 1/2 minutes for him to be ready. At last, he was ready..I gave him my orders..and again, I have to wait for him to get the stuff..while he was fooling around talking with his other friends, joking..bla bla bla. I was like..HELLO, can he at least give me my food first! SIGH.. Anyway, got the food like after standing there for a whole 8 minutes..and they call themselves a FAST FOOD outlet..SIGH..Great disappointment with the services they gave..

I know I know..some of you might be thinking.."What is up with this gal? Can't she wait?"..Waiting is not a problem. But I have a principle of getting things done with the best attitude. Fooling around and keeping your customers waiting is definitely not a very good job ethical.

I believe that customer service is one the most important key to any success in any business. When you have great services, your customers or clients would be very happy and would definitely come back to that same company with the good service. I've come across this guy who is a cash teller in this certain local bank. My friends and I brought in a bag of money (they are..sad to say..the money of the school). It was during lunch time though. However, banks are not close during lunch time. The employees take their turns to have their lunches. Fine..so we went in..got up to one of the counters and gave this cash teller the bag of money. His face immediately turned into "Justice Bao" when he saw the money he had to count. Okie..so we brought in some syllings and lotsa smaller notes..but he is a cash teller right? He has to count the money right? For the next 20 minutes or so, he mumbled to himself, showing unsatisfaction about what he had to do, making faces..He was generally getting on to my nerves! Again, I was disappointed by these people.

SIGH..I just cannot stand bad services..Maybe it is just me with services, but I guess..Life's like this! ^_^

I am Officially..."JOBLESS"

8 of MARCH 2005..The day I officially finishes my 3 years of university life..I am no longer a student..SIGH..it only seemed like yesterday when I first entered uni..and now it's like over..Now..trying to step into the WORKING WORLD..which is usually of no fun. SIGH..Life could only get "better"..

I was just thinking..Time pretty much flies..and when I say FLIES, I mean FLIES..3 years passes in a blink..Guess we just have to really appreciate what we have now..I found this beautiful phrase, "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift; That's why it is called the present.."

Nevertheless, though tomorrow IS a MYSTERY, I can't help thinking about what it would be like to be in the working world..hmmm..Don't even know if I can hold of a job considering the fact that the economics aren't very good..I think getting a job isn't the most important thing..It's doing what u like and following your heart..You know, many of us graduates pretty much work for the money. I know I know..some of u might have think that if we don't work for the money, what are we working for then? I guess if we look at work in this perspect, then working wouldn't be fun would it? Working can be fun, if you make it look as a game..hehehe..I don't know how true is that..Got that quoted by Mary Poppins.. ^_^ but I guess that might just be true wouldn't it?

I am just full of craps..Anyway, just for those who actually took the time to read this crap of mine, LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST..It's really important..coz with that, we would feel pretty much happy..Until the next post...CHAO!
