Note the highlighted portion of this article...and read below for my comments...*sigh*

Notice : Stitching Works For Bridge Structure on Penang Bridge Begins.Penang Bridge Sdn Bhd

(PBSB) would like to inform that UEM Construction Sdn Bhd, as the main contractor for the Penang Bridge Widening Project will carry out stitching works for the bridge structure effective from 29 March 2008. The stitching works will be carried out in stages involving Km0.7 to Km0.4 (300m distance) on Perai bound.

The implication is that this works will cause temporary traffic interruption to the bridge users due to the constriction of lane width for the left lane on Perai bound. Therefore, users are reminded to be extra careful while driving and observe all alert signage including Electronics Sign (VMS).

To avoid traffic disruption on the bridge, users are advised to limit/restrict traveling during morning peak (7.00am – 9.00am) and afternoon peak (5.00pm – 8.00pm) especially on Mondays and Fridays and public holiday/school term break.

Users are encouraged to use OTIM service or contact PBSB Bridgeline 1300-1300-03 for traffic enquiries. PBSB also offer free towing service using 4 units of our in-house tow truck known as ‘Bridge Response Team’ with capacity of towing up to 40 tons vehicle; in the event of breakdowns or accidents within its concession area.

PBSB wish to thank all our users for their patience and cooperation as present inconvenience is for future comfort.

Ermmm...limit traveling during peak period? So, does that mean we go to work after 9am and get back by 4pm? Or does that mean we go early in the wee hours and don't get back until 8pm? I mean...SERIOUSLY...what kind of statement is that? Just becoz you need to get the bridge work done, does not mean you can ask the users to limit their traveling during peak period...I mean...hello! It's the bloody peak period!

Okie...nvm...I shall be patient. Patience chiaoju...patience. You know what? It takes them seriously long to finish the new toll booth...I seriously wonder how long will they take to finish this project...I hope they surprise me though...*wishful thinking*
